Bi-State Action Plan Update

The 2012 Bi-State Sage-Grouse Action Plan was developed to provide a roadmap for the science-based adaptive management of sage-grouse in the Bi-State area. Since then, the actions set forth in that initial plan have been continuously implemented in a coordinated effort involving a large number of diverse stakeholders. Partners in this collaboration include the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Geological Survey, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, Natural Resource Conservation Service, state and local governments from CA and NV, NGO’s, Tribes, agricultural producers, and interested citizens. Over a decade later, the majority of actions set forth in the 2012 Action Plan have been completed and the effort is recognized as a national example of effective collaborative conservation.

A series of meetings were held over the summer of 2023 to gather public input to guide the development of the 2024 Action Plan. Since then, the Bi-State Technical Advisory Committee has been working diligently. The Draft 2024 Bi-State Sage-Grouse Action Plan is now ready for public review and we invite you to submit comments and provide feedback.

Comments must be submitted by the end of the day on Thursday, August 29th, 2024.
